Hitachi Solutions Commerce Suite takes a unique approach to integration. Thanks to a multi-tier architecture, the interfaces that Hitachi Solutions Commerce Suite uses for human interaction are also offered to the Sage ERP MAS Adapter. This allows the integration to mimic user actions at each level.

Hitachi Solutions Commerce Suite provides a bi-directional fully integrated interface to Sage ERP MAS for Commerce Suite transactions. The Commerce Suite integration to Sage ERP MAS is implemented through Sage ERP MAS business connector and XML transactions.


Hitachi Solutions Commerce Suite provides an automated integration between Sage ERP MAS and the Commerce Suite platform by using a web service layer between the two applications. Automated jobs are setup that can run at different timed intervals. For example the Commerce Suite product catalog integration with Sage ERP MAS items may run twice a day while the sales order integration may run every 20 minutes.


Hitachi Solutions Commerce Suite is secured by encrypting any sensitive data in a SOAP envelope that is then transmitted between the servers on an HTTPS channel. This decoupled integration environment allows Hitachi Solutions Commerce Suite to be hosted practically anywhere. Customers can host it on the same network where Sage ERP MAS resides or in a completely different network such as by using a dedicated server with a third party hosting service.

Integration Technology

A web services based model is used for reading and writing to the Hitachi Solutions Commerce Suite System. A SQL database connection is utilized to push data into Sage ERP MAS and to get data out of MAS. All the integration entities use SOAP calls to communicate across the two servers; this ensures that even if the servers are located across Internet, the data can be securely exchanged using https.

Hitachi Solutions Commerce Suite deploys integration SQL objects in MAS database for inbound and outbound integration with Sage ERP MAS.

Integration Logging and Reporting

The integration log allows you to look at adapter responses for specific customers, orders, addresses, or other entities. This makes it easier for system administrators to troubleshoot any transactions that may get stuck. Error log reports can be generated into familiar formats like MS Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF. Email alerts can also be sent out for failures to ensure quick resolution for errors.

Decoupled Architecture

All the integrations are executed as batch processes to avoid making unnecessary calls to Sage ERP MAS. The batch execution also ensures that there is very little uptime dependency on Sage ERP MAS for the Commerce Suite system to be up and running. Sage ERP MAS can be taken offline and brought back online with no damage to data integrity. Flexibility is provided to control the frequency of integrations for each entity based on business requirements, e.g. Invoice integration to run based on Invoice posting times in Sage ERP MAS.
