Ecommerce for Microsoft Dynamics GP

Seamless Integration with Microsoft Dynamics GP

Hitachi Solutions Ecommerce takes a unique approach to integration. Thanks to a multi-tier architecture, the interfaces that Hitachi Solutions Ecommerce uses for human interaction are also offered to the Microsoft Dynamics GP Adapter. This allows the integration to mimic user actions at each level.

Hitachi Solutions Ecommerce provides a bi-directional fully integrated interface to Microsoft Dynamics GP for Ecommerce transactions. The Ecommerce integration to Microsoft Dynamics GP is implemented through Dynamics GP business connector and XML transactions.

Hitachi Solutions Ecommerce provides an automated integration between Microsoft Dynamics GP and the Ecommerce platform by using a web service layer between the two applications. Automated jobs are setup that can run at different timed intervals. For example the Ecommerce product catalog integration with Microsoft Dynamics GP items may run twice a day while the sales order integration may run every 20 minutes.

Hitachi Solutions Ecommerce is secured by encrypting any sensitive data in a SOAP envelope that is then transmitted between the servers on an HTTPS channel. This decoupled integration environment allows Hitachi Solutions Ecommerce to be hosted practically anywhere. Customers can host it on the same network where Microsoft Dynamics GP resides or in a completely different network such as by using a dedicated server with a third party hosting service.

Seamless Integration with Microsoft Dynamics GP

Integrations are regularly updated to support the latest Dynamics GP version, service packs and cumulative updates.

Integration Technology

A web services based model is used for reading and writing to the Hitachi Solutions Ecommerce System. Microsoft Dynamics GP eConnect is utilized to push data into Dynamics GP and the eConnect Transaction Requester to get data out of GP. All the integration entities use SOAP calls to communicate across the two servers; this ensures that even if the servers are located across the Internet, the data can be securely exchanged using https.

Integration Logging and Reporting

The integration log allows you to look at adapter responses for specific customers, orders, addresses, or other entities. This makes it easier for system administrators to troubleshoot any transactions that may get stuck. Error log reports can be generated into familiar formats like MS Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF. Email alerts can also be sent out for failures to ensure quick resolution for errors.

Decoupled Architecture

All the integrations are executed as batch processes to avoid making unnecessary calls to Microsoft Dynamics GP. The batch execution also ensures that there is very little uptime dependency on Microsoft Dynamics GP for the Ecommerce system to be up and running. Dynamics GP can be taken offline and brought back online with no damage to data integrity. Flexibility is provided to control the frequency of integrations for each entity based on business requirements, e.g. Invoice integration to run based on Invoice posting times in Dynamics GP.
