Hitachi Solutions America Donates Laptops, Xbox to Toronto Elementary School

Hitachi Solutions has a history of donating to the school’s toy drive in an effort to support local causes.


Hitachi Solutions America, Ltd., a leading provider of global industry solutions based on the Microsoft Cloud, is pleased to announce it is spreading some holiday cheer this season by donating laptops and an Xbox 360 to Crescent Town Elementary School in Toronto.

“We are glad to do our part to ensure that future generations can learn and thrive with access to high quality technology,” said Mo Anwar, Manager of Business Analytics and Collaboration at Hitachi Solutions America. “Crescent Town Elementary is in a transitional neighborhood and does not get the necessary funding to upgrade equipment. We hope that our donation will improve the quality of student life at this school.”

Hitachi Solutions America has an office in Toronto, Canada and this donation is a part of the company’s continued commitment to support local causes. The donation includes 35 laptops and one Xbox 360. The donation will be made the second week of December. Hitachi Solutions has a long history of donating to the school’s annual Toy Drive, and this is the first year donating laptops.

“We are very grateful for the laptops Hitachi Solutions America donated to our students,” said Harpreet Ghuman, Principal of Crescent Town Elementary School. “Our students are sure to benefit from the laptops, which are a much needed upgrade from the laptops they were previously using.”

The idea to donate laptops to Crescent Town Elementary School was born from a core group of Hitachi Solutions Employees passionate about social programs.

“I like to help my community whenever possible,” said Chris Kemp, Senior Systems Engineer at Hitachi Solutions America. “I’m inspired and energized by this initiative and have spent my spare time ensuring all of the laptops are ready to go for the students at Crescent Town Elementary.”

“I’m very happy that these laptops are going to a good cause,” added Paul Madden, Director of Global IS at Hitachi Solutions America, who approved the laptops to be discharged.

Crescent Town Elementary School is located in the Greater Toronto area and is committed to providing a variety of learning programs for all ages and learning needs. The staff of the school is committed to providing students with learning experiences, which will promote growth in their intellectual, physical and social development. Crescent Town School is part of this TDSB initiative which works to give inner-city students a variety of additional supports to improve learning.
